This is the highway from Juliaca city at 3824 metres (12 545 ft) of altitude to lake Lagunillas at 4174 metres (13 694 ft) above the sea level. Millions of years ago it was the bottom of an Ocean. That Ocean today survive in the lake Titicaca. But that’s story for other post…

I don’t know who was the funny guy that called a lagoon with the name “lagoon” because that means “lagunillas” XD Beyond that lagoon is the frontier with Arequipa region, toward the valleys of the coast. The next ones are toward that city and the mountain is called Chachani.
