This is the highway from Juliaca city at 3824 metres (12 545 ft) of altitude to lake Lagunillas at 4174 metres (13 694 ft) above the sea level. Millions of years ago it was the bottom of an Ocean. That Ocean today survive in the lake Titicaca. But that’s story for other post…

criatura (remains)

misteriosa luz taciturna

cold day

tranquility in the ground; fury in the clouds

cut like cheese

a dark world

Rain over Avalon

the clouds want to hold your hand

blending sky with earth

I made my road with nocturnal fire
I don’t know who was the funny guy that called a lagoon with the name “lagoon” because that means “lagunillas” XD Beyond that lagoon is the frontier with Arequipa region, toward the valleys of the coast. The next ones are toward that city and the mountain is called Chachani.

the life in the highlands

frozen time

giant dreaming with towers
Passenger is my collection from photographs taken for fun from windows of busses. There is no chance to stop and think, so just smile and do a click ;-)
wow she is so wonderful!
Me gusto “todo o nada”
Thank you n_n! The title is a reference that in the ground, the water, the clouds, the weather is so intense that give everything and don’t save nothing ;-)
wild perfect beauty… your pix have reminded me of… Iceland!:-) such a pity your amazing country is sooo far-away from “old Europe”… but guess what: yesterday I had a yummy avocado from Peru!:-)
* * *
buenas noches, FR y hasta luego! you may know this song: Roxy Music – Avalon…;-)
Bonjour Mélanie =) the best avocados from Peru grow in Moquegua, and it’s highly probable that yours came for that region in the south, bon appétit!. Peru is far from Europe but I’ll try to be closer ;-)
in your photographs of Iceland it looks like my home, except auroras of course, so in a certain way you have been here.
Actually a lady thought in that same song in my post “rain over Avalon”, nice song, is soft and was a pleasure to hear it this night =), when I think in Avalon I think in an Argentinian comic with a Merlin that try so hard to get an impossible dream.
Que tengas un bonito día Mélanie de la ville rose ;-)
désolée for the Avalon song… yo no sabía…

you’ve already noticed that I love Iceland…:-)

@”Peru is far from Europe but I’ll try to be closer ;-) ” – estás bromeando o en serio? donde?…
No désolée please, it was a pleasure hear it again :-) it was the second time in life, and I played twice more.
Yep, but Iceland looks so similar to my homeland that I see more interesting the French Alps :D
I’m preparing to postulate to scholarships in another country, so I don’t know where I’m going to end but surely is going to be closer to you ;-) although it’s still a matter of time it’s a taken decision.
Pardon for didn’t be specific, sometimes I’m rude because I’m distracted :S I’m preparing a postulation next year (a few months ahead) for a post-graduate investigation in Japan =), also I’ve thought in Europe and it’s an open option but for now Japan is closer to my possibilities. At least I know that if I get Japan then the world could be more accessible to me, including Eurock ;-) Domo arigato Merani chan =)
Nihon – my other huge love after Iceland…;-) lucky you, FR-san, I’m really happy for you and I’m sure you’ll make it everywhere…:-) btw, what’s your sun sign(signo del zodiaco), por favor?…
Thanks Melanie n_n I’m Leo, although I’m not sure if we can see here the zodiacal constellations. I mostly know bc I’m from the same day of Cantinflas and the Krakatoa eruption, August 12th.
If Leos are like lions then according to Discovery Channel we male are lazy and women are the hunters XD.
I know you are a Cappy girl but you are closer to the Corto Maltese, fortune doesn’t dictate neither your steps nor destiny but your decisions and will ;-)
guess what, Mr Lion – fire sign and the King(el rey) of all animals: yes, I’m a Cappy, but my ascendant(personality) is…”lioness”: le feu sous la glace…;-))) mes hommages & respectful regards, Sir…:-)))
Honored for your kind words lady Freyja, avec un coeur de feu sous une beauté de glace :-)
Celestial poem about your place, home, highlands, this is a pretty high altitude for a low lander like me, mountains, skies…….. are simply magic. Good night friend. Wanda
Cześć Wanda =) For a highlander like me usually the low lands are hard too with the humidity and the heat of summer :D, now the spring rains are turning the yellow fields into greens.
Dobrej nocy Wanda, sweet dreams :-) Francis.
Spring rains wakes up everything to the life. This is the most beautiful season of the year :) Pozdrowienia, buziaczki ))))))))))))) Wanda
Yes, it’s indeed quite beautiful, and the best is that always there is a place in spring ;-). Pozdrowienia, buziaczki.^_^ Francis.
Stunning pics, dear Francis!
Sending you all my best wishes!. Aquileana :D
Hi Aquileana. There are so many commenters and followers in your posts that also require time to be prepared that I just can say an astonishing Thanks. Wish you a nice weekend. Kind regards.
Your photos are simply incredible!
Thanks Cindy ^_^ I enjoy the marvelous photographs of your travels. Thanks for the visit, hoping you are having a great week ahead :-)
