Island of light

island of light

Time ago my life was dark and suddenly I had a light in it. This light had the shape of a girl from the world of my dreams. She was my first relationship in the virtual world. I dislike to divide life in virtual and real, I think there is just one life. As she was from another country it was inevitable, but a happy time indeed, with real feelings.

She had some problems in her life, and said me good bye. Since that day I am posting images in black and white… I really cannot find a better way to express it, not in words as I have not a language (Spanish and English are both foreign to me) I am still with my plans, and I am enough man to accept that things like these happen. That’s life and if there is some bitterness I accept it because makes sweeter the nice moments.

My next post is going to be a return to colors. Let’s smile.

The mermaid in the oceans of the South waiting a pirate from far away

It feels like the time had no substance. it is just real when there is a “you & I”; it turns eternal when I meet your voice, your eyes and your smile. My previous time is rewritten as a preface of our history. Wait for me, my princess. ~w~

(I bought the little mermaid in the port, I thought it would be nice to photograph with the sunny day in the coast. I am not sure if the artisan handcrafted it as the rest of the work there made with shells and mother pearl, it has no indication, but well done to the unknown artisan ^w^)

Memories of Paucarpata

Rain of light over me

rain of light over me

I know I have not posted longer articles since a time. I am quite busy with my projects. But today I decided to give me a relax and to publish some photographs. These are from some years ago with a point and shoot of four megapixels in a place named Paucarpata.

Walking to another realm

Paucarpata means “flowery platform” and it’s actually pre-hispanic farm platforms still in use. It’s located in Peru in one of the districts of Arequipa city. I walked with a friend philosopher when I was at university.

Stone by stone...

stone by stone

These barriers made with stone are called “pirka” you can found them in every farmland in the Peruvian highlands, in the deserts of the coast use vegetal fibers instead.

I don’t know if they are related, but I liked so much the idea of family ties in the vast countryside.

Seeing from the distance I think the fully automatic little camera did a good job. But that time I was getting closer to its limits…

A last try of warmness

a last try of warmness

And that was just a good time. It was one of the few times I walked with somebody else. Except the last year in July… And I think I can notice that my partners in crime get quickly impatient… I am not the kind of guy that just walk away and snap shots. I like so much to taste the place and see… and walk and get lost in it, even if I cannot get to discover it completely.

I prefer to know a little but well that know  everything but just superficially.

Rays of light breaking in flares…

When kid there was a manual translated from Japanese about photography, I had seven years old and I wouldn’t touch a camera until almost seventeen years after. Among other things the manual had a photograph of a sunstar in middle of a forest and with a lot of flare with a shaple like the flare in this photograph. It said, if I’m not wrong, that one had to be careful with lenses because bad lenses aren’t resistent to flares; and to me that was so weird because that photograph was the most beautiful I had seen until then. Of course those geometrical flares don’t exist in the reality, they have that shape because the mechanism of the iris of the lens, the most open (the smaller number) the aperture the rounder the unfocused elements, the quality of the shape of those unfocused elements is called bokeh.

Paolo et Francesa – escape from hell

Paolo et Francesca - scape from hell

Paolo and Francesca find a hole in the hell. They discover inside a tranquil blue sky and a colorful place to start again their love: hopefully they escape.

They fly a colorful city dreaming to touch each other with their wings. The colors start to melt inside the rotten shells, the sky burns and the shadows change their shapes into laughing beasts ripping Francesca with lupine tusks.

Paolo wakes up. He sees in silence the familiar whirlwind, there is no Francesca in it. He is alone.
