The day advancing…
river
A road from the end of a river until the shores of a sea – Ilo city.

Silhouette framed by a wave in turquoise
Ilo city has its river. The place where it ends to blend soft and silently into the sea is called ‘mouth of the river” and it’s plenty of life. Birds are used to paparazzi, fishermen or just walkers so they aren’t shy of cameras. This place makes me remember those old illustrations of the limits of the universe (our planet) where it’s a flat surface with the sea ending in a border and wooden ships falling from it…
Bird’s eye view

Life in the border of the universe
Those are some birds I had never seen, but my knowledge in birds is so poor that I don’t even know the name of the ones I already saw, except a pair as the Peruvian Pelican.

the exiled
It’s part of the nature of human to tend to think in animals as beings with human desires, as proof there are several religious stories, myths and fables. I cannot avoid to imagine stories. I wonder if they pay us with the same coin, cats seems to think that we’re their pets…

free to fly
Under the bridge
I photographed this place in August, in our winter; but that day the sky was blue and sunny, a little summer. The only signal betraying the winter was the yellow grass.

Bridge over the end of the river
There were rocks for foundations around it, I guess they are going to make a park or something, I guess it’s forbidden to build an edification in a so sensible area for the species. But sometimes there are people that says is poor and need the space (and when they’re investigated usually have even two properties…)

Shores painted with dinosaur eggs of several colors. Every time I see a river of tranquil waters I think it’s a little Ganges.

Ocean
So I walked the Ocean (not on it, along its shores I mean, otherwise I could start a new religion :P) That’s a story for another day but here there are some views just a meters close to the river:

La Union Province: few vistas from a bus in an unpaved road

unending
If you have a feeling of déjà vu don’t worry: you are right. I posted this one image before, the rest I didn’t post before but more or less this is my modus operandi. Before to publish a long post I put a images as a preview, but in this case I almost didn’t publish this last part. Is just that I didn’t find another to use as a introduction, I just find the composition very attractive, and I say it without arrogance because the composition was in the nature and I just was there to point the camera.
This photographs are from the road that connect La Union’s province capital city, Cotahuasi, with Huaynacotas. The main attractive is the Cotahuasi Canyon, so if you go there someday I hope these photographs can help you ;-) They were composed within a bus in movement in an unpaved road with the soft light of the dawn, light that usually needs high isos and/or tripods.

Road To Capua River
Time ago a classmate from Arequipa invite me to go to Capua Waterfalls, this is near Yura in the Southwest of Perú. They aren’t amazing or big waterfalls, but the path give time to talk and walk under the sun of the desert. It was a pity that she injured a foot. I was experimenting with the camera, an Olympus bridge with small sensor, so you are going to see images stitched with empty spaces and perhaps photographs that could be better, but I like them so I don’t worry so much. After see the limitations in resolution and functions I decided to go with a better camera, and the Olympus was very good.
The Olympus is so good that even with malfunction as is was in that time and today took good images.

endure the time
In those times I was trying digital filters, today I don’t do much of that anymore, I feel them as distractions.

Naturally I took several photos of her, and to her, not for the blog, for that reason I’m just posting two of those because she is not recognizable and weren’t posed but composed by me.

And that’s Capua, certainly it’s a small place but in there is no place where there isn’t nothing to be recorded. It’s incredible to me how can live people there under a Sun so strong, but then again to them is incredible that I can walk with light clothes in my city that to them has a very cold weather.
Also was great to find spots with so much green:

Green firmament of leaves
Illusory
A friend invited me a couple years ago to see a waterfall near her city. I was glad to go so we walked; unfortunately half way she slipped and hurt her ankle. While she rested I walked alone, the time seemed slow as if I were in an infinite day, then I saw this bird, more than a bird actually it was a nervous energy in red. In those times I had the Olympus SP-500uz, to shot the bird I had to put the camera in a tripod and elevate the iso, but I hadn’t the former nor I couldn’t do the latter except I wanted a poor image, so just simply shot et voilá: it was perfect, I just could take one photograph to the bird, and to my eyes it was beautiful. If I would be used the camera that I use today, a Sony R1, the image would have sharpness and definition, but then again that would be a boring photo of a bird on a rock.
I’m not sure if this would be a nice image to others, but certainly to me (a non photographer) it reproduce with fidelity what I saw: a being of pure and frenetic movement as a mirror of the nature that was flowing and singing in that particular way the little and quiet rivers do.
