Ilo city has the beauty of a flower in my opinion, it just has 50 000 persons and although it’s a port with so many fishermen the heart is in the mining company. One day the fabrics are going to be industrial skeletons but for know it’s a brilliant city.

Sky made wine
Vanishing slowly into memories of warmer days. Knowing that its time already happened, a sky made wine.

My city, Juliaca (probably the true name is “Xullaca”), has human occupation from thousand of years ago but certainly is not touristic and it has fame to be an ugly city. But we can develop a sense of beauty in any place we have grew up and I find it in the life of it. It’s a commercial city so there is a lot of flyers, posters, ads, signs, in the most colorful palettes against our dull colors in buildings, and several kind of sellers that sell things from the coast, the highlands and the jungles, even things that aren’t in the capital, and of course things from our own industries.
At the same time it’s a luck to not be a touristic city because our traditions are in my opinion more natural and true to ourselves. It’s not about to put a disguise to get one dollar from a tourist but just because we are just like that.
Black and White – A

Generations
In the beginning with my hobby to take photographs I used to convert to black and white. With the time I discovered the way to modify the colors in the black and white converters to get different tonalities and shades. But I have to confess that my family don’t get it so much, mainly because they started with Black and White film so the color represents like the culmination. And they have artistic eye so is not the case about a lack of appreciation. Nevertheless I felt that I was abusing of the black and white conversion. Today I believe two things: to shoot in black and white I have to think to feel and to see in black and white, and that no everything works in black and white. However here I have some photographs in black and white. I hope you find one that makes you smile ;-)

The sky is not blue, yes it is, but not always. Every time is a new sky upon a new world. The genesis starts when you born and the Apocalypse happens when you die, there is no end of the world, just your end of your world. Actually it’s not so serious, Did you know?
Summoning Mysterious Life from the Moon
I like to photograph the moon to balance the void that can be when the sky is empty of clouds, colors or buildings. Besides I think it’s a mystery, the way it could affect the human behaviour, even the fact that it’s enormous to be a satellite.
Juliaca is the second city with more local tv stations after Lima, (or is it the first? :D), the antennas are near our Apu Huaynarroque (apu is a sacred hill or mountain). Spaniards tried to destroy our sacred figures, but they couldn’t destroy the Pachamama (mother Earth), or the apus, so on the latter they put crosses. So today the apu has crosses and antennas, well, perhaps that means that we adore the TV!! LOL
Waves after rain.
(Or Omega Sanction version:-D)
I love the rain, and more in this image taken in a city in the north of the Atacama’s desert. Where I come from there are snow, wind, and several grades of rain, so it is almost like a surprise to see rain there.
A nice night in the desolated desert.
